The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss the proposed rehabilitation of the WIS 83 and WIS 16 Interchange. The meeting will take place at the Village of Hartland Municipal Building (Village Board Room), 210 Cottonwood Ave, Hartland, WI, on Wednesday February 15, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The meeting will be conducted in an open house format. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements. No formal presentation will be given. Representatives of the WisDOT will be available to discuss the proposed project including construction staging and timeline, while addressing any questions or concerns.
The WIS 83 bridge improvements are being proposed to address bridge deck deterioration. The bridge deck will be replaced and the pavement between the bridge and the interchange exit/entrance ramps will be rehabilitated. Some minor grading may take place due to guardrail improvements at the ramps.
Construction is currently scheduled for 2019 and be completed in a single construction season.
WisDOT had previously planned a project to expand WIS 83 from 2-lanes to 4-lanes, from north of Vettelson Road to Campus Drive. At this time, WisDOT has no plans to proceed further with the expansion.
