Public meeting scheduled for WIS 32 work in Sheboygan County

Meeting to focus on design concepts and public input

February 7, 2017

(Sheboygan County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss design concepts for a proposed resurfacing project on WIS 32 from I-43 to County D in the village of Cedar Grove, and on I-43 from the Sheboygan south county line to Wilson-Lima Road, Sheboygan County. The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the village of Cedar Grove Public Library, 131 W. Altena Avenue, from 5 to 7 p.m. A short presentation will be made at 5:10 p.m.

The project on WIS 32 includes making repairs to the existing concrete in various locations and then overlaying with an asphaltic pavement.  A smaller portion of the project length at the railroad crossing and approaches will be reconstructed to smooth out the roadway.  There will be a marked detour in place for approximately 3 weeks during the reconstruction of WIS 32 at the railroad crossing.

The project on I-43 includes milling the asphalt, making repairs to the existing concrete pavement, and placing an asphalt overlay.  The ramps at WIS 32 and County AA will be closed at night for approximately 2 nights per ramp during construction. The project is anticipated to be constructed in 2020.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to review and discuss the proposed improvements. WisDOT staff will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis and obtain public input.

Persons who are unable to attend the meeting can make their comments by contacting the WisDOT Project Manager, Paul Brauer, at 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304; (920) 366-1097 or by e-mail at Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Paul Brauer at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
