Reconstruction project in downtown Two Rivers begins Thursday, March 16

(Two Rivers) As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently approved $4.5 million to reconstruct one mile of WIS 42 (Lincoln Avenue) in downtown Two Rivers from 22nd Street to 35th Place. The project is scheduled to start March 16 and finish in November of this year.
Vinton Construction Company of Manitowoc, Wis. is the prime contractor.
The WIS 42 reconstruction project will replace the existing roadway with a new concrete street and replace existing utilities. The project includes grading, storm sewer, water main, sanitary sewer, concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, signing, pavement marking and street lighting.
WIS 42 from 22nd Street to 35th Place will be CLOSED during construction. A signed detour will be in place. Access will be maintained to property owners, businesses and emergency services.
- Detour from the north: County VV to WIS 147 to WIS 42
- Detour from the south: WIS 42 to WIS 147 to County VV
