Open house to be held in Whitehall for US 53 improvements

Meeting to focus on construction sequence and schedule

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a project kick-off meeting to discuss this summer’s construction schedule for improvements to US 53 from Richter Road south of Whitehall to WIS 121 in Pigeon Falls.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 7, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Whitehall High School (Elementary Balcony), 19121 Hobson Street, Whitehall, WI 54773. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the project details, schedule and traffic impacts.

The work along US 53 will include milling; asphalt paving; concrete curb and gutter work; and culvert, guardrail, and sign replacement. The project also includes the intersection redesign of Ervin and Main streets and the re-decking of the Trempealeau River Bridge in the city of Whitehall.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and ask questions concerning this project. Exhibits showing the plan concepts will be on display. Project representatives from WisDOT will be available to discuss and answer questions about the project on an individual basis.

Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, can contact David Koepp, WisDOT project manager, at (715) 836-2078 or email to david.koepp@dot.wi.gov. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to David Koepp, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, 718 W.
