(Fond du Lac County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a public construction update meeting to discuss construction details for the upcoming work on WIS 44 from Douglas Street in city of Ripon to the Winnebago county line. The public meeting will be held Wednesday, May 17, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Ripon City Hall council chambers, 100 E Jackson Street, Ripon. A short presentation will begin at 4:45 followed by an open-house format.
The WIS 44 Project includes reconditioning of the pavement surface and the addition of passing lanes. A passing lane will be added to northbound WIS 44 from Seelig Way to Page Road, and southbound WIS 44 from Fletcher Road to just past Springbrook Road. WIS 44 will be closed to through traffic and detoured during construction. Access will be maintained to property owners, residents and emergency services.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to review project details, view project displays and exhibits, and discuss any traffic or access concerns. WisDOT staff and the construction contractor will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
