Governor Walker approves US 10 (Oneida Street) improvements in Winnebago and Calumet counties

​Resurfacing project between WIS 114 and County AP begins July 31

(Calumet/Winnebago County) As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently approved $1.2 million to improve 1.1 miles of US 10 (Oneida Street) from WIS 114 to County AP (Midway Road) in Winnebago and Calumet counties. The project is located in the cities of Menasha and Appleton and the towns of Menasha and Harrison. The project is scheduled to begin Monday, July 31, and finish by October 5, 2017. US 10 will be detoured during construction. Vinton Construction of Manitowoc, Wis., is the Prime Contractor.

US 10 Project improvements:

  • Mill and overlay the pavement on US 10 between County AP and WIS 114
  • Repair of the concrete pavement at the WIS 114 intersection
  • Spot replacement of deteriorated curb and gutter and inlets
  • Replacement of the traffic signals at the Manitowoc Road intersection including partial reconstruction of the intersection
  • Partial replacement of the traffic signals at the WIS 114 intersection and partial reconstruction of the intersection
  • Installation of new signing and pavement marking

US 10 Project traffic impacts:

  • US 10 will be detoured during construction.
  • The detour route is WIS 441 to County KK to County N.
  • Local, business and emergency access will be maintained during construction
  • Some turning movements at the intersections of US 10 and WIS 114 will be reduced during construction.
  • Traffic on WIS 114 will not have access to US 10 for the duration of the project.
  • Traffic will not have access to Fire Lane 1 for a portion of construction.
  • Local, business and emergency access will be maintained during construction
  • During work at the intersection of US 10 and Manitowoc Road, the Manitowoc Road approaches will be closed up to 20 days.
  • WIS 114 will remain open to traffic.

Project benefits:

Businesses, property owners, and the traveling public will benefit from new, smoother pavement along this stretch of highway. The intersection of US 10/WIS 114 and US 10/Manitowoc Road will be reconstructed to Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, and new sidewalk pavement, traffic signals, pavement markings and signage will provide a safer roadway for motorists, bicycles and pedestrians.
