(Outagamie County) As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently approved $650,719.90 to replace a box culvert under WIS 55 (Main Street) in downtown Seymour, Outagamie County. The project begins Sept. 11 and will finish by mid-November of this year. WIS 55 will be closed and detoured during construction.
Concrete Structures, Inc., of Janesville, Wis., is the Prime Contractor.
This project will fully reconstruct a failing box culvert located at Little Henry Creek, between Morrow Street and Robbins Street, under WIS 55 in downtown Seymour. The roadway adjacent to the box culvert will be reconstructed.
Project traffic impacts
- WIS 55 (Main Street) will be closed and detoured via Mainline Drive and County G during construction, although only a very small portion of Main Street will be closed to traffic.
- Access will be maintained to businesses and property owners.
- Main Street will be open to local traffic between WIS 54 and Morrow Street.
- Main Street will be open to local traffic north Robbins Street.
The Little Henry Creek box culvert will be new. Risk of its failure and/or flood waters impacting roadway users on WIS 55 will be greatly diminished.
