Public meeting for proposed WIS 36 rehabilitation in Racine County

Release Date: September 1, 2017

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a Public Involvement Meeting (PIM) for the proposed rehabilitation of WIS 36 (Milwaukee Ave.) in Racine County.

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Lakeview Elementary School Library, 26335 Fries Ln, Wind Lake, WI 53185

A section of the WIS 36 roadway is currently suffering from longitudinal joint deterioration, alligator cracking and transverse cracking. Due to the poor condition, WisDOT is proposing to resurface this section of roadway. Additionally, two bridge decks have reached the end of their service life. The proposed project will remove and replace these bridge decks.

Proposed Improvements:

  • Resurface WIS 36 from WIS 20 to County Y
  • Replace two bridge decks
    • Located south of the resurfacing
  • Improve left turn lanes at the intersections of:
    • WIS 36/Main Street
    • WIS 36/WIS 164

The meeting will be held as an informal, open house format with no formal presentations planned. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and address any questions or concerns. Attendees may stop in at their convenience and view exhibits, meet with project staff, ask questions, and provide feedback. WisDOT encourages property and business owners, interested residents, and other stakeholders to attend the meeting.

If you are not able to attend the meeting and would like to provide feedback, please feel free to contact Project Manager Justin Suydam at (262) 548-8745 or at Justin.Suydam@dot.wi.gov.
