July 5, 2016
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss WIS 52 between Elm Road and US 45 in Marathon and Shawano counties.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Hewitt Town Hall, H12399 County Highway Q, Wausau.
This section of WIS 52 requires improvements to maximize the life of the pavement, which is cracking and rutting. Additionally, nine culverts along this section of WIS 52 are deteriorating and require replacement.
The purpose of the July 19 meeting is to discuss improvement alternatives based on the identified roadway needs and input received from local officials.
An improvement project is currently scheduled to begin in 2018, but could occur as early as 2017.
Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter at the meeting may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (711).
