Public meeting for WIS 190 (Capitol Drive) project in Waukesha County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to WIS 190 (Capitol Drive) from Five Fields Road to Wethersfield Road in Waukesha County.

The meeting will take place in the City of Pewaukee City Hall-Common Council Chambers on Wednesday, March 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need of the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.

The intention of the project is to improve pavement conditions, safety and operations, and mobility on Capitol Drive. As part of the project, the bridge over County F will be replaced and will require the reconstruction of approach slabs, roadway and the adjacent interchange. The new bridge will be raised approximately two feet to meet current vertical clearance standards.

Construction of Capitol Drive between Five Fields Road and Wethersfield Road is scheduled for 2017.

In advance of this project, temporary maintenance for the Capitol Drive Bridge over County F is scheduled to take place late spring 2016. Information regarding this upcoming maintenance project will also be available.

The meeting will be conducted in an open house format. No formal presentations will be made. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions. Project plans, location maps, and other exhibits will be on display to illustrate the work in detail. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
