Public meeting for US 51, Beloit

Meeting to focus on proposed resurfacing project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss a proposed project for US 51 between Henry Avenue and WIS 11 in Beloit. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2 at the Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Boulevard, Beloit. A short presentation will be made at 6 p.m.

The project will consist of the removing (milling) existing asphalt pavement and replacing (overlaying) with new asphalt pavement. Existing gravel shoulders will be restored or rebuilt and existing guardrail will be replaced. Construction is currently scheduled for 2021.    

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
