The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss the US 151 freeway conversion study between Columbus and Waupun in Dodge County. The meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 at American Legion Post 146 Veteran’s Center, 300 Beichl Avenue, Beaver Dam.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the recommended alternative for converting US 151 from an expressway to a freeway between WIS 73 in Columbus and WIS 49 in Waupun. Identifying and preserving the corridor for a future freeway facility under the Wis. Stats 84.295 mapping process is required to ensure that potential future development is compatible with the transportation system.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. The meeting will be an open-house format with a brief presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m. Representatives from WisDOT and Ayres Associates will be available to discuss project details, address comments, and answer questions. Displays showing WisDOT’s recommended alternative and other alternatives under consideration in the Environmental Assessment will be available.
