Public involvement meeting scheduled for WIS 23 improvements in Fond du Lac County

​WIS 23 slated for resurfacing between Rosendale and I-41

(Fond du Lac County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements to 9.5 miles of WIS 23 between Rosendale and I-41 in Fond du Lac County. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Fond du Lac County Airport, 260 S Rolling Meadows Drive, Fond du Lac. A brief presentation is scheduled to being at 5:45 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open-house format.

The purpose of the project is to improve the overall condition of the pavement, as well as address various intersection safety needs. The project limits are Becker Blvd. in the village of Rosendale and N. Rolling Meadows Drive/County VVV in the city/town of Fond du Lac. Construction is currently scheduled for 2019.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Mill and resurface WIS 23 asphalt pavement
  • Widen asphalt shoulders between Becker Blvd. and Paul Drive
  • Repair and overlay bridge deck over the west branch of the Fond du Lac River
  • Add left turn lanes at Esterbrook Road/County Road T
  • Partial closure of the median at Rickmeyer Drive
  • Add slotted, left-turn lanes and new overhead signals at N Rolling Meadows Dr./County VVV

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to review and discuss the proposed project. Displays, maps and exhibits will be available for review. Project staff will be available to answer any questions and take your comments.
