Release date: Nov. 3, 2016

(Oconto County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements on WIS 22, within the city of Gillett in Oconto County. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Gillett High School, 208 W Main Street in Gillett.  There will be a short presentation at 5:15 p.m., followed by an open-house format.

WisDOT is in the process of developing plans to reconstruct WIS 22, from Finnegan Lake Road to the WIS 22/WIS32 intersection, including access modification at various intersections in the project area and other general safety improvements. The existing pavement of this portion of WIS 22 is deteriorating, will require increased maintenance soon, and will reach its service life by the time of construction, which is scheduled for 2023.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions. Maps and exhibits will be available for viewing. Project staff will be available to discuss the project and address any questions or concerns.

Persons who are unable to attend the meeting can make their comments by contacting the WisDOT Project Manager, Matt Ternes, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304 by calling (920) 366-3028 or by email at matthew.ternes@dot.wi.gov.
