When radar was all the rage.

In the early 1950s, radar for measuring a vehicle’s speed was still in its infancy. The agency’s first official use of radar was at an intersection in Hales Corners in 1953. The public was skeptical, so State Patrol officers demonstrated radar speed detection equipment at the Milwaukee Auto Show in 1955. State Patrol officers had to keep their radar calibrated by using a tuning fork.

Skeptics abound at the Milwaukee Auto Show.  Perfect pitch?
