How to reinstate after suspension or revocation (out-of-state residents)

​If you do not live in Wisconsin but your driving privilege is suspended or revoked in Wisconsin:

  • You must reinstate your Wisconsin driving privilege before you will be eligible for licensing in another state, and
  • You are required to pay a reinstatement fee to reinstate your driving privilege in Wisconsin 

Reinstate online

You may be able to use our online application to reinstate your driving privilege. 

Reinstate by mail

  • If you are not able to reinstate using the online application, you need to mail your reinstatement fee, payable by check or money order (do not send cash) to:

  • Be sure to include your full name, date of birth, Social Security Number and current address
