Vehicle title fees

Wisconsin DMV accepts the following forms of payment:
  • ​Credit cards accepted: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover 
  • Debit card (processed as credit)
  • PayPal and Apple Pay is available with some online services​​
    • ​​​NOTE: Your credit or debit card will be charged a convenience fee for this service 
  • ​ACH (Automated Clearing House) from your checking or savings account
    •  Checks made payable to "Registration Fee Trust"
  • Cash option available ONLY at DMV Customer Service Centers​​. Do NOT mail cash
  • Fees collected support the Departm​ent of Transportation budget

​$164.50 for original title or title transfer
$157 for a low speed vehicle
$0 (no fee) for title transfer to a surviving spouse or registered domestic partner
