Inter-Tribal Task Force

Inter-Tribal Task Force annual work plan

The Inter-Tribal Task Force develops an Annual Work Plan that focuses on transportation areas related to economic development (business/labor), safety, shared resources, and infrastructure and mobility.

Purpose

The task force was established through the partnership agreement and serves as a policy advisory group for WisDOT.

Members

​Task force members consist of WisDOT statewide and regional tribal liaisons and other agency employees, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and representatives appointed by each respective tribal government.

Meetings

The task force meets on a bi-monthly basis and has developed numerous tribal initiatives such as the tribal transportation safety program, tribal business and labor development capacity building project, long term transportation planning consultation and multiple training opportunities.

The Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa facilitates the Inter-Tribal Task Force through a MOA funded by WisDOT.
