Civil 3D file descriptions

​Note - WisDOT staff should NOT use the Civil 3D 2016 standards files from this location. Please refer to the User Readme File provided in the WisDOT help file that appears during Civil 3D startup.

General instructions for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016, Windows 7, 64-bit

  • The wisdot-c3d16-install-guide.pdf contains detailed instructions for installing the WisDOT Civil 3D 2016 customizations. Please read it carefully.
  • The wisdot2016.c3d.msi automates the install of the base package and update package to both a network-based install and an individual computer.
  • Specific functionality may be lost when working with different software versions/operating system.
  • These files are also compatible with Windows 10.

General instructions for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014, Windows 7, 64-bit

  • Each self-extracting compressed file provided here will copy contents to default locations onto the local PC. For detailed instructions describing contents please read the c3d14-install.pdf first.
  • Note - Files must be located in the exact directories listed below to use the WisDOT provided desktop shortcut and corresponding profile. The profile WisDOT2014.arg and the desktop shortcut file Civil_3D_2014_WisDOT are part of wisdot-c3d14win7-64-local.exe.
  • Specific functionality may be lost when working with different software versions/operating system.
  • These files are also compatible with Windows 10. However, Windows 10 security settings may require adjustments to run registry files.


Note - Files must be located in the exact directories listed below to be used by Civil 3D.
