License revoked for Milwaukee-based Cuzco Auto Mart

Release date: January 16, 2019

The state of Wisconsin revoked the motor vehicle wholesaler license for Cuzco Auto Mart, located in Milwaukee, for conducting fraudulent activities. The order, issued by the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Division of Hearings and Appeals, determined that Cuzco Auto Mart was in violation of state law, including odometer tampering, title fraud and selling vehicles without a retail dealer license.

An investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's (WisDOT) Dealer and Agent Section determined Cuzco Auto Mart fraudulently reduced the mileage and altered the titles on at least 136 vehicles resulting in total reduction of more than 9 million miles. These vehicles were subsequently sold to unsuspecting customers in violation of Wisconsin and Illinois law.

WisDOT’s Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and resolves disputes about dealership sales and warranty repairs. It also investigates complaints about odometer tampering and title fraud involving dealerships and private sellers.
