Reminder: WIS 80 closure and detour underway in southern Wood County

Release Date: February 15, 2021

The first construction project of the year in North Central region is underway in southern Wood County. Crews have begun to replace a bridge at the Yellow River (also known as Remington Ditch) on WIS 80 between Babcock and Necedah.

Truck traffic planning to travel north on WIS 80 starting in Necedah are reminded to follow the posted detour of WIS 21 and WIS 173 as opportunities to turn around or use local roads are limited. Detour signs and barricades notifying traffic of the closure and detour are in place and the project staff are working with local authorities to add or adjust signage for improved visibility.

A printable detour map and project updates are available on the project website.

Construction is currently scheduled for completion in April 2021. The construction schedule is based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
