Public comments open for proposed WisDOT Project in Brown County
Release Date: March 4, 2021
(Brown County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a new
WIS 96 design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on WIS 96 in Brown County. The public is invited to review the proposed project’s scope, schedule and traffic impacts on the new website and provide comment.
The proposed project would resurface the roadway between the towns of Wrightstown and Denmark, replace an existing box culvert with a new single span bridge, and other culvert and beamguard improvements. Proposed storm sewer repairs are slated for Lark and Shirley. Traffic impacts include full closures of various segments of WIS 96 in the work zone. The project will be constructed in stages to minimize impacts to the traveling public. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2022.
The website includes design displays and construction maps, a public handout and options to provide comment, including a downloadable public comment form with a pre-paid mailer. Project comments can also be submitted via email or calling project contacts on the website. No in-person public meeting will be held for this project at this time due to the current health emergency and to help stop the spread of COVID.
