Public involvement meeting set for proposed work on WIS 114/WIS 55 in Calumet County

Meeting outlines proposed highway construction from Harrison to Sherwood

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a public involvement meeting for proposed work on WIS 114/55 from US 10 in the village of Harrison, to the south junction of the WIS 114/55 split in the village of Sherwood, in Calumet County. The meeting will be held Monday, April 8, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the village of Sherwood Community Center, W489 Clifton Road, Sherwood, Wisconsin. There will be a short presentation at 5:15 p.m. followed by an open-house meeting format.

A reconditioning-level improvement is proposed for WIS 114/55 from US 10 to Castle Drive. A resurfacing-level improvement is proposed from Castle Drive to the south junction split. Other proposed work includes intersection and roadway geometric improvements, shoulder widening, rumble strips, curb ramp improvements, and miscellaneous curb and gutter repair. A detour is anticipated during construction. Work is currently scheduled for 2023 but may take place as early as 2022.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to review proposed project details, displays and exhibits, ask questions, and provide comment that may assist WisDOT during project design. WisDOT staff will also be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
