WIS 52 construction project in Wausau scheduled to begin April 5

Work on the WIS 52 (Scott Street) bridge between 1st Street and South 1st Avenue in Wausau, is scheduled to begin April 5, 2021. Improvements include a thin concrete overlay, and installation of new bridge expansion joints. Crews will be in the area beginning Wednesday, March 31 to prepare the work zone.

Motorists can expect to encounter lane shifts, and single and multiple lane closures. Pedestrian access will be maintained along Scott Street and the River Edge Parkway including a temporary crosswalk at Washington Street. Construction is currently scheduled for completion in June 2021.

Upon completion of the WIS 52 project, crews will move to the Wisconsin Central Ltd. Railroad bridge on Business 51 (Grand Avenue) between Floral Avenue and Single Avenue. A website for both projects is available here: https://projects.511wi.gov/wis52bus51wausau/
