Governor Evers approves I-94 East Frontage Road resurfacing to begin

​​Release date: April 12, 2022

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $3.6 million contract to resurface the East Frontage Road (120th Avenue) along I-94, between County Road ML and WIS 50, in Kenosha County.

Work is scheduled to begin April 20, weather permitting. Payne & Dolan, Inc. is the prime contractor for the project and will implement the following:

Project Improvements​

  • Resurface over 4 miles of East Frontage Road
  • Install new traffic signals, lighting, and turn-lane extensions at WIS 165 (104th Street) intersection
  • Box culvert repairs
  • Curb ramp replacements

What to Expect

  • Open access will be maintained for businesses and local traffic
  • East Frontage Road will be signed as closed to through-traffic
    • Detour utilizes nearby West Frontage Road

Construction is scheduled for completion by this fall. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
