US 141 project design website (Marinette County) now available

​​Public comments open for proposed WisDOT Project in Marinette County​

(Marinette County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces a design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on US 141 in Marinette County. The public is invited to review the proposed project’s scope, schedule and traffic impacts on the new website and provide comment. ​

WisDOT is proposing to improve US 141 from County Z to County R in the town of Beecher and Pembine, Marinette County. Project improvements include:

  • Milling 3 1/2” of the existing pavement and overlaying with 4 1/4” of asphaltic pavement
  • Adding shoulder aggregate​
  • Beam guard replacement
  • Replacing curb ramps in town of Pembine
  • Vision corners
  • Centerline and shoulder rumble strips
  • Pavement marking

Design is currently underway with final plans expected in February of 2023. Project staff is coordinating a virtual public involvement meeting for later this spring. Public meeting details/date/time will be announced on the website. Construction is scheduled for summer/fall of 2023. Minor real estate purchases will be required. Proposed traffic impacts include flagging operations and lane closures on US 141.

The website includes design displays and construction maps, a public handout and options to provide comment, including a downloadable public comment form with a pre-paid mailer. Project comments can also be submitted via email, calling project contacts on the website, or attending the upcoming virtual public meeting.
