Railroad crossing work scheduled on WIS 54 in Portage County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Wisconsin Central Ltd. (CN) have scheduled work next Wednesday on the WIS 54 railroad crossing in Plover, Portage County.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on April 27, crews from Wisconsin Central Ltd. (CN) will replace railroad signals and add gates to the crossing between Grant Avenue and Nassau Boulevard.

During gate installation, traffic will be shifted and run bidirectional on the opposite side of the highway. The intersections at Grant Avenue and Nassau Boulevard will be closed with no access to and from the highway. Truck traffic may encounter brief delays.

The road is expected to reopen by the end of the day.
