Maintenance activities scheduled for Marathon, Oneida Counties

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) North Central Region has scheduled the following maintenance activities for the week of May 18, 2020. All work and closures are weather dependent and subject to change.  Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving through any work zone.

Marathon County, US 51
Marathon County Highway Department is continuing concrete joint repairs on US 51 southbound in Wausau. On Monday, May 18, the on ramp from County NN will be closed, message boards are already out notifying the public. Crews will be transitioning traffic control to a single lane closure by mid to late next week. The right lane of US 51 southbound, between the off ramp to County NN and the off ramp to County N, and the on ramp from County NN will remain closed over the Memorial Day weekend.

Marathon County, WIS 29 Bridge Maintenance
Marathon County Highway Department will be sealing bridge decks on WIS 29, from the Marathon/Clark County line to County E South. Sealing operations will require single, daytime lane closures from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, May 18 through Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Oneida County, US 51
On Monday, May 18 and Tuesday, May 19, crews will be performing pavement repairs on US 51 southbound and northbound, from Front Street to Old Highway 70 in Minocqua. Motorists will encounter single lane closures.

Oneida/Vilas Counties, US 51
Crews will return today and next week to the Woodruff/Arbor Vitae project on US 51 to complete punch list items left over from the completed project in 2019. Short, single, daytime lane closures are anticipated Wednesday, May 20 to Friday, May 22.
