North Central Region bridge maintenance, inspections scheduled this week

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) North Central Region has scheduled the following upcoming bridge inspections and maintenance activities. All work and closures are weather dependent and subject to change.  Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving through any work zone.

Marathon County: WIS 153 bridges over Fenwood Creek and tributary to Freeman Creek

Marathon County Highway Department will be installing anti-skid treatment (polymer overlay) on both bridges. Operations will require single lane closures with temporary traffic signals from 6:30 a.m. Monday, June 14 through 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 16.

Oneida County: US 51 bridge over Minocqua Lake
Oneida County Highway Department will be washing the bridge. Operations will require a single lane closure, Monday, June 14, 3 a.m. to 11 a.m.  

Shawano County: WIS 29 bridges
Shawano County Highway Department will be washing WIS 29 bridge decks throughout the county beginning Monday, June 14. Crews will be using mobile operations to notify drivers of daytime lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, June 14 through Thursday, June 24.

WisDOT bridge inspectors will be using a reach-all truck to conduct routine inspections at the following locations: 


Wood County

  • County ZZ bridge over East Fork Black River, near City Point, will have a single daytime lane closure on Monday, June 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • WIS 54 bridge over the Yellow River in Dexterville will have a single daytime lane closure on Monday, June 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • WIS 73 bridge over the Wisconsin River, in Nekoosa, will have a single daytime lane closure on Monday, June 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 Green Lake County
  • WIS 23/73 bridge over the Fox River in Princeton will have a single daytime lane closure on Wednesday, June 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • WIS 23 bridge over the Puchyan River near Green Lake will have a single daytime lane closure on Wednesday, June 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • WIS 44 bridge over the Grand River in Kingston will have a single daytime lane closure on Wednesday, June 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Adams County
  • WIS 21 bridge over the Wisconsin River east of Necedah will have a single daytime lane closure on Thursday, June 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
