Governor Evers approves WIS 13 resurfacing project in Price County

Project includes culvert, sidewalk, curb, gutter and curb ramp replacement

Release date: June 16, 2022

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $1.19 million contract with prime contractor American Asphalt of Wisconsin of Mosinee for a resurfacing project on WIS 13 from Walnut Street North in Fifield to the North Fork Flambeau River Bridge in Price County. Construction is scheduled to start Monday, June 20.

This segment of WIS 13 is showing signs of distress. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation project will:

  • Remove a portion of the existing asphalt pavement and place new asphalt.
  • Replace two culverts, curb, gutter, sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramps.

WIS 13 will remain open to traffic, but motorists can expect single-lane closures controlled by flagging. In Fifield, sidewalks and shoulder closures will occur during upgrades to curb, gutter, sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramps.

Construction is scheduled for completion in August. The schedule is weather dependent.
