Overwhelming support for WIS 23 project at public hearing held at UW-Fond du Lac

Release date: June 20, 2018

A crowd of 350 members of the public, local officials and state legislators attended a public hearing on the WIS 23 project. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to expand WIS 23 from US 151 in Fond du Lac east to County P in Plymouth to a 4-lane divided highway with various intersection upgrades. All public testimony at the hearing was in support of expansion.

“It is clear that citizens are calling for the 4-lane expansion of WIS 23,” said WisDOT Secretary Dave Ross. “I would like to thank FHWA and the team at WisDOT who have been working diligently to move the project forward. It was great to see such overwhelming support locally for a plan that addressed 100 percent of the court’s concerns.”

Written testimony is still being accepted until July 31, 2018 and should be sent to Bryan Lipke, P.E., WisDOT Project Manager, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304; email bryan.lipke@dot.wi.gov.
