Release date: June 21, 2022

To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Governor Evers has signed a $2.31 million contract with prime contractor Northeast Asphalt, Inc. of Greenville for a resurfacing project on US 45 between WIS 32 and the Vilas County line in Three Lakes. Construction is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 5.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation project will:

  • Resurface the highway.
  • Install centerline rumble strips.
  • Repair or replace existing storm sewer at spot locations.
  • Replace culvert pipes.
  • Replace curb and gutter.
  • Upgrade pedestrian curb ramps.

During construction, US 45 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter a milled roadway and lane closures controlled by flagging.

Construction is scheduled for completion in September. The construction schedule is based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
