Project includes replacing culverts and guardrail, installing new pavement markings
Release date: July 6, 2022
To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $2.02 million contract with prime contractor Northeast Asphalt, Inc. of Greenville for a resurfacing project on WIS 32 in Forest County from the railroad bridge in Crandon north to Railroad Avenue in the town of Argonne. Construction is scheduled to start Monday, July 11.
The pavement on this segment of WIS 32 is deteriorating. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation project will:
- Remove a portion of the existing asphalt pavement and place new asphalt.
- Replace culverts.
- Replace guardrail.
- Install new pavement markings.
During most construction, WIS 32 will remain open to through traffic, but motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging. For Middle Branch Peshtigo River culvert pipe replacement, anticipated to occur in early August, WIS 32 will be closed for 14 days, with traffic detoured via US 8 and County S.
Construction is scheduled for completion in late October. The schedule is weather dependent.
