The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) issued a special order to Kunes Country Ford Lincoln for improperly conducting an off-premise sale and failing to comply with several laws.
DMV’s Dealer and Agent Section sanctioned, Kunes Country Ford Lincoln, 1234 E. Geneva St., Delavan, for failing to provide customers with a three-day right to cancel notice at an off-premise sale. While dealers may conduct up to six off-premise sales per year, special rules apply including offering customers a written notice of their right to cancel a purchase or lease within three days.
Other sanctions noted in the order include: failure to properly reassign the title for vehicles, incomplete purchase contracts and unlicensed salespersons.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and resolves disputes about dealership sales and warranty repairs as well as educates the motor vehicle industry and public. It also investigates complaints about odometer tampering involving dealerships and private sellers.
