Two-day operation next week will use flagging and pilot vehicles
August 11, 2017
Maintenance work is scheduled to take place on US 12/WIS 16 in Juneau County on Wednesday and Thursday, August 16 and 17. Maintenance crews will seal coat both lanes of US 12/WIS 16 beginning on the east side of Lyndon Station to the Juneau/Sauk County Line near Rocky Arbor State Park. Work is planned between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day. During the seal coat operations, the road will be open to through traffic by utilizing flaggers and a pilot vehicle to escort drivers through the work zone. Travel delays are expected.
Seal coats consist of a layer of crushed stone placed on top of an application of liquid asphalt, sweeping away loose stones, and pavement striping. Seal coats are placed on a roadway to reduce deterioration and prolong the life of the pavement.
Seal coat work is weather dependent and therefore the schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
