Bridge replacement begins Monday, August 19 with closure and detour

(Oconto County) To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $918,921 contract to replace the WIS 32 bridge over the Pensaukee River in Krakow, Oconto County. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, August 19 and finish in November of this year. WIS 32 will be closed and detoured during construction.
Pheifer Brothers Construction of Neenah, Wis. is the prime contractor.
This project will replace the existing structure on WIS 32 over the Pensaukee River with a new bridge and retaining walls. The project will also replace a wing wall on a box culvert and conduct concrete surface repair on another box culvert. Other construction elements under this contract includes excavating, grading, asphalt paving, beamguard, and signage.
WIS 32 will be closed at the bridge and traffic will be detoured. Access to properties will be maintained.
The detour route for northbound WIS 32 will start at WIS 32 to WIS 29 to WIS 117 to WIS 22 to WIS 32. The detour for southbound WIS 32 will start at WIS 32 to WIS 22 to WIS 117 to WIS 29 to WIS 32.

The project will improve safety by addressing current bridge deficiencies.
