Pavement resurfacing begins September 9
Release Date: September 3, 2019
(Fond du Lac County) To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $2.4 million contract to improve 5.6 miles of WIS 67 from Baumann Street in the city of Campbellsport to the Dodge/Fond du Lac County line (Golden Corners Road) in Fond du Lac County. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 9 and finish by Nov. 1 of this year. WIS 67 will remain open during construction.
Northeast Asphalt Inc., of Greenville Wis. is the prime contractor.
This project will resurface WIS 67 between Baumann Street and Golden Corners Road in Fond du Lac County. Some minor changes to cross drains, such as extensions and culvert relining, will take place. Culvert will be cleaned, and minor ditch grading near some culverts will occur. Work also includes guardrail, pavement marking and permanent signing.
WIS 67 will remain open during construction. Motorists will encounter temporary, single lane closures with flagging operations and shoulder closures.
This project will provide a smoother riding surface and increase the usable lifespan of the current section of pavement. Culvert work will improve flow and drainage.
You can follow construction progress on this project on the Northeast Wisconsin Weekly Highway Construction Update. For more information regarding traffic impacts, transportation news and improvement project updates in Wisconsin’s Northeast Region, follow us on Twitter @WisDOTnortheast.
Work Zone Safety
Each year in Wisconsin, both highway workers and motorists are killed and injured in crashes that happen in highway construction zones. Motorists should slow down, be patient and pay attention to their surroundings in this and all work zones.
