Customers bilked out of titles and fees
Release date: October 2, 2020
The State of Wisconsin revoked the motor vehicle dealer license for C4 Sims Auto LLC, 6310 N. Sherman Blvd, Milwaukee, for failure to submit required titling fees to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and failing to properly follow administrative requirements.
Investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Dealer and Agent Section found that C4 Sims Auto collected title and registration fees totaling $18,266 and failed to submit the fees and appropriate documentation to DMV. Customers were left without registrations and titles for vehicles they purchased until DMV stepped in on their behalf.
DMV’s Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and resolves disputes involving dealership sales and warranty repairs. DMV’s Consumer Protection Investigators work in the best interests of consumers and sought to address 53 customer complaints against C4 Sims Auto, primarily for failing to submit customers’ documents and fees to get their title and registration.
The license for C4 Sims Auto is revoked effective September 27, 2020.
