Governor Evers approves rehabilitation project along I-41 in Washington County

​​​Release Date: October 3, 2019​​

(Washington County) To invest in Wisconsin​'s transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $21,8000 contract to rehabilitate 22 miles of I-41 from the I-41/ US 45 split to the Dodge County Line. The contractor, Payne and Dolan, Inc. is expected to begin on the first stages of this project during the week of October 7, and finish by mid-November 2019. Crews will return in spring 2020 to complete the remaining work with an expected final completion date of fall 2020. This schedule is weather dependent and subject to change. 

​Project Improvements

  • Resurface 22 miles of Interstate
  • Install median cable barrier within the project limits
  • Replace two smaller bridge structures along I-41 just north of WIS 33

​​Traffic Impacts

​Single-lane closures and suture short-term ramp closures will be implemented near where crews are working​ throughout the duration of this project. ​​​
