Release date: October 5, 2017
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for a safety project on WIS 89 at the intersection of County T and Dalman Road in Dodge County. The meeting is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, at the Portland Town Hall, W11720 Taylor Street, Waterloo.
The proposed safety project plans to construct a channelized island to give eastbound motorists along WIS 89 an intuitive location to stop before proceeding through the intersection on County T or Dalman Road.
The meeting will provide the preliminary design, project schedule and seek input from the public. Design concepts to be discussed include enhancing safety using a channelized island, improving drainage by replacing/extending culverts and modifying ditch slopes, and improving intersection sight distance by reducing the size of the hill in the southeast corner of the intersection. Construction is currently scheduled for 2020.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
