Wisconsin DMV tool puts forms, contacts, video tutorials at drivers’ fingertips

WisDOT’s Motor Carrier Registration Unit has a new tool to help commercial truck drivers run their business. The new Wisconsin Interstate Motor Carrier Reference Guide:
- Provides drivers with details on how to set up interstate accounts, including links to necessary forms and websites;
- Summarizes interstate requirements and offers record keeping tips, and;
- Explains the audit process and adds quick links to key government agencies.
The Interstate Motor Carrier Reference Guide is available online as an interactive PDF or download to print. It has links to important state forms and WisDOT YouTube tutorials to help operators optimize their business.
The interactive guide also links to WisDOT’s Motor Carrier YouTube playlist for tutorials on how to fill out required state paperwork. The videos include how to establish a state of Wisconsin Web Access Management System (WAMS) account for easy online access.
In addition to this new reference guide, WisDOT also offers the Motor Carrier Start-Up Packet to help new trucking companies establish their businesses. It is organized in the order that new motor carriers would begin and run their operation. Experienced drivers will find interesting links to e-Credential information, 511WI.gov’s new trucker information and WisDOT’s Truck Parking Information Management System.
