WIS 32 construction complete in town of Mountain, Oconto County

Project finishes on time and under budget

Release Date: October 11, 2022

(Mountain) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces completion of all major construction to improve 4.3 miles of WIS 32 from Parkway Drive to County Road W within the town of Mountain, Oconto County. Work on the $3 million project began July 18, 2022, and finishes on time and under budget.

Construction included resurfacing of WIS 32 in the work zone, culvert pipe replacements, culvert pipe lining, rumble strips, shoulder widening and curb repairs. Northeast Asphalt, Inc. of Greenville, Wis. was the Prime Contractor.

Project benefits include a smoother driving surface for motorists, extending the life of the existing pavement and reducing future maintenance costs. Repair and replacement of culverts helps ensure adequate drainage to mitigate possible flooding, and repairs to damaged curb and gutter assist in proper drainage. Wider paved shoulders and new rumble strips enhance safety by alerting drivers of lane deviations and more opportunity for correction back into driving lane.
