WIS 23 project design website now available

​​​​Proposed highway improvements in Sheboygan County​

(Plymouth) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announces a WIS 23 design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on WIS 23 in Sheboygan County. The website details the project on WIS 23 between County P and Taylor Drive in the towns of Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls, village of Kohler and city of Sheboygan. Construction is tentatively expected in 2028. The public is invited to review the proposed improvements scope, schedule and traffic impacts on the website and provide comment.

The purpose of the projects is to preserve the existing roadway and improve safety of the facility by addressing pavement deterioration and outdated guardrail. Proposed improvements include mill and overlay, reconstruct intersections at WIS 23/Sunset Road and WIS 23 and County TT, culvert repair, beam guard upgrades and miscellaneous items. Traffic impacts considered are single lane closures, temporary lane closures and access restrictions will occur on Sunset Road and County TT during construction.

The website includes maps of project limits and locations, proposed scope and schedule, possible traffic impacts, design displays and exhibits, business information, downloadable handouts and various methods for the public to provide comment.
