Motorists can expect single lane closures

On April 1, 2019, Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to begin an improvement project on I-94 near the City of Menomonie in Dunn County from 250th Street to Wilson Creek. Proposed improvements include removing and replacing deteriorated concrete pavement, removing and replacing 8 structures, associated grading, pavement marking, signing, right of way fencing, beam guard, cable barrier, and incidentals.

Hoffman Construction is the prime contractor for the $30.3 million project. Ninety percent of the project will be paid with federal transportation funds; the remaining ten percent will be paid with state transportation funds.

Proposed traffic impacts
Construction is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2019.

During construction, I-94 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter lane shifts and single lane closures throughout the project. Two lanes will be open in each direction during peak traffic hours. Speeds will be reduced from 70 to 60 MPH.

Construction is currently scheduled for completion by mid-November.
