To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $2.3 million contract for improvements on US 18 (Sunset Drive), between WIS 67 and Moraine View Drive, in Waukesha County.
Work is scheduled to begin the week of August 15, weather permitting. Wolf Industries, Inc. is the prime contractor for the project and will implement the following:
Project Improvements
- Resurfacing four miles of US 18 between the villages of Dousman and Wales
- Box culvert repair over Scuppernong Creek
- Traffic signal replacements at N. Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive
- Installation of new trail crossing notification lights and markings at Cushing Park Road and near Luterbach Court
What to Expect
- From August 15 until mid-September, there will be a full closure of US 18 at Scuppernong Creek (between Cushing Park Drive and N. Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive).
- For the duration of the project, US 18 will be closed to through traffic between WIS 67 and Moraine View Drive
- Local access will be maintained. Drivers with destinations in the work zone should access their destination from the nearest cross street.
- Signed detour utilizes WIS 67, I-94 and WIS 83
Construction is scheduled for completion by fall. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
