Description
Accurate scheduling and timely completion of highway construction projects allow businesses and the general public to plan for the associated impact of maintaining and improving our transportation infrastructure. Timely completion also allows WisDOT to maximize the effective use of contractor resources. Our goal is for 100 percent of highway projects to be completed within the original timeframe.

[1] Working Day (Available Day) Contract - Includes calendar days, except Saturdays, Sundays, department-specified holidays, and the period from November 16 to March 31, both dates inclusive, on which weather or other conditions not under the control of the contractor will allow construction operations to proceed for at least 8 hours of the day with the normal working force engaged in performing the controlling item of work which would be in progress at this time.
[2] Calendar Day Contract - Includes every day the calendar shows, including Saturdays, Sundays, and department-specified holidays.
[3] Completion Date Contract - Includes the calendar date shown in the proposal on or before which the work contemplated under the contract shall be completed.
Accountability: The continuous effort to use public dollars in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
