​​Location​​

WIS 35 from County C on the east side of Somerset in St. Croix County to the Church Hill Road-Main Street intersection and from the intersection north to Laser Drive.

Overview

The existing pavement on WIS 35 is showing signs of deterioration and needs to be replaced. The WisDOT project will include:

• Replacing the existing pavement from County C to Laser Drive.
• Upgrade the WIS 35/Main Street intersection, including signals.
• Replacing and upgrading storm sewer systems.

Real Estate

Additional roadway right of way will be required to build portions of this project. Acquisition of a temporary interests for ground grading is required for most the corridor. Some permanent interests of right of way will be required.

Traffic Impacts

Construction is anticipated to occur in three primary stages. Two of the three will result in the closure of WIS 35 to through traffic. Through traffic will be detoured via Lagrandeur Road, Lemire Street, SMC Drive and Laser Drive. Motorists also can expect to encounter single-lane and shoulder closures with flagging operations as the project is completed.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses located within the project limits during construction. However, there will be days where access will be restricted because of water main, sanitary sewer and concrete work. These will be coordinated with affected properties in advance.
