US 12/14 (West Madison Beltline), High Point Road structure and approaches, in Madison, Dane County
This project will replace the existing bridge carrying High Point Road over US 12/14 (West Beltline Highway) and reconstruct 0.26 miles of High Point Road between Goldenrod Lane and D’onofrio Drive. High Point Road will be widened to accommodate two lanes of traffic plus a bike lane in each direction. Sidewalk will be constructed along both sides of High Point Road, including the west side of the road between the bridge and D’onofrio Drive where none currently exists. Segments of the future City of Madison West Towne Path will be constructed along High Point Road and US 12/14.
- February 6, 2017 – September 1, 2017 - Construction anticipated
South High Point Road will be closed to traffic from Watts Road to D’onofrio Drive for the duration of the project. A signed detour route will be provided using Mineral Point Road, South Junction Road, and Watts Road.
Motorists can expect occasional nighttime single lane closures on US 12/14.
Limited overnight full closures of US 12/14 will be utilized to remove the existing bridge and set beams for the new bridge. A signed detour route will be posted for these closures using South Gammon Road and Mineral Point Road.
Access to all impacted businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
