US 51, Beloit to Janesville, Rock County
The project will resurface 7.6 miles of US 51 between Henry Avenue in Beloit and WIS 11 in Janesville to address deteriorating pavement. Two segments of US 51 will be converted from 4-lanes undivided to 2-lanes with a two-way-left-turn-lane (TWLTL). The two segments are Henry Ave. to Cranston Road and County Q to the railroad overpass bridge. Additional roadside safety work will be done in various locations throughout the project.
View exhibits from the public meeting on October 2, 2018:
- Construction is scheduled for 2019.
US 51 will remain open to traffic with lane closures. No detour route is proposed.
