WIS 173 (WIS 21 to County Line Road), Wyeville to Babcock - Monroe & Juneau counties

Project overview

This project is 19.4 miles in length, begins at intersection of State Highway 21/173 and ends at the Juneau/Wood County Line (County Line Road). The project consists of a partial depth pavement removal and replacement with asphaltic pavement, replace guardrail and pavement marking along with installing centerline rumble strips. The project also consists of replacing 3 small bridges with 3-sided box culverts.


  • This project is currently scheduled to be constructed in 2020.


Traffic impacts/detours

The road will remain open to traffic for most of the project by using flagging operations. There will be an approximate 6-week closure of State Highway 173 for the structure work. The marked detour will be WIS 21 to WIS 80.
